Wirth was defeated by incumbent Dave Camp.[5] Wirth ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Michigan's 4th District. Wirth ran unopposed in the August 7 Democratic primary. She faced Republican incumbent Dave Camp, John Gelineau (L), Pat Timmons (G), and George Zimmer (UST) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[6]
