Debra Girvin was the Midlothian district incumbent on the Chesterfield School Board in Virginia. She ran against four fellow challengers and won in the special election on March 18, 2014. She did not seek re-election in 2015.[1]

Five candidates competed for the seat vacated by Patricia M. Carpenter. Debra Girvin defeated Bill C. Colgate IV, Dianne L. Mallory-Coble, F. Gary Powers, Jr. and Bob E. Olsen to win the Midlothian district seat.
