Debra Johnes Riva

Debra Johnes Riva was a judge of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Court in Sarasota County, Florida. She was elected without opposition in July of 2006 and took office in January of 2007. She retired from the court on July 2, 2022.[1]
Education
Riva was born on December 18, 1964. She received her B.A. degree from the University of South Florida in 1988 and her J.D. degree from Nova Southeastern University in 1991.[2][3][4][5]
Career
Riva worked as a prosecutor for the State Attorney's Office prior to joining the circuit court in 2007.[6][7]
2012 election
Riva was unopposed and automatically re-elected following the primary election on August 14, 2012.[8]
