Dee Andrews
Dee Andrews was a member of the Long Beach City Council in California, representing District 6. Andrews assumed office in 2007. Andrews left office on December 15, 2020.
Andrews ran for re-election to the Long Beach City Council to represent District 6 in California. Andrews lost in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Andrews ran as a write-in candidate in 2016. The city charter dictates that an incumbent running for his or her third term must file as a write-in candidate for the primary election.[1]
Although elections in Long Beach were officially nonpartisan, Andrews was known to be a member of the Democratic Party.[2]
Biography
Andrews graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School. He received a B.S. in political science from California State University Long Beach. His professional experience includes working for the Long Beach Unified School District and teaching history and government at Long Beach Polytechnic High School and Wilson High School.[3]

2016
The city of Long Beach, California, held primary elections for city council on April 12, 2016. The general election was held on June 7, 2016. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was January 15, 2016. Four of the eight city council seats were up for election.[4] Incumbent Dee Andrews (Write-in) defeated Erik Miller, Robert Harmon, and Josephine Villasenor in the Long Beach City Council District 6 primary election.[5]
