Dee Ann Hawthorne
Dee Ann Hawthorne was a judge of the 10th Judicial District, Division B in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. She was elected to this position and took office in 2004.[1] She retired at the end of her term on December 31, 2014.[2]
Education
A Baton Rouge native, Hawthorne received her B.S. degree in music education from Louisiana College in 1978. She received her master of music degree from Northwestern State University in 1980. She taught music and choir prior to her legal career. She then received her J.D. degree from Louisiana State University Law School in 1985.[1]
Career
Hawthorne began her career as a law clerk for the late Judge Jimmy Stoker of the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal. She left that position in 1986 to start her own general law practice in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She worked in that capacity until she was elected to the district court in 2004. She also served as a civil and family law mediator.[1]
