Defiance City Recall Petition Amendment, 2009
Defiance City Recall Petition Amendment was on the November 3, 2009 ballot measures in Ohio in Defiance County for voters in the City of Defiance.
The amendment proposed removing the task of qualifying petitions for recall elections from the city council clerk and turn the duty over to county election officials. The amendment would also substitute in provisions in state law. According to state law in order to qualify a recall petition the petition requires signatures from at least 15% of the qualified elections in the last election. According to current charter the signature requirement calls for 25% of voter's from the last election.[1]
