I am a Marine veteran, retired law enforcement officer, and lifelong advocate for community service. My journey has been defined by overcoming personal hardships, serving my country and community, and dedicating my career to protecting and assisting others. Raised in a family that struggled financially, I learned the value of hard work early, enlisting in the Marine Corps and later transitioning into federal law enforcement. As a father, husband, and local leader, I strive to unite and empower residents of Georgia’s First District lifting those who feel unheard, fighting for accountability, and bringing rational, caring leadership to Congress. My story is one of resilience, empathy, and a profound commitment to putting constituents first. I know firsthand what it’s like to claw your way from the bottom and the determination it takes to rise. My journey could be a roadmap for others to emulate. Every challenge I’ve faced only strengthened my understanding of the people I serve and my resolve to fight for real opportunity and fairness. I believe our futures are built on perseverance, integrity, and working together to transform hardship into hope, qualities I offer in service to my district.
  • Accountability and transparency in government are essential. I will foster open, honest communication with residents through regular town hall meetings, clear reporting, and direct engagement to ensure every voice is heard and respected. Restoring trust in public office is my unwavering commitment.
  • Healthcare, housing, and education must be accessible to all. By expanding Medicaid, investing in public health and mental health supports, and advocating for affordable housing, I pledge to address the issues that matter most to working families, veterans, and our seniors in every community.
  • Investing in strong local economies and infrastructure is critical for future generations. I will prioritize job growth, technology innovation, and rural development, driving policies that bring economic opportunities, preserve our environment, and strengthen community safety.
I am passionate about expanding access to quality healthcare, especially for working families, veterans, and rural communities. Affordable housing, education, and job creation are equally central to my vision for Georgia’s First District. I also champion public safety reform, mental health, environmental protection, and investment in critical infrastructure. My focus is building an inclusive economy where everyone has a fair shot and ensuring government works with transparency and accountability for all. These priorities guide my commitment to real, lasting change.
I look up to my mother, who was the greatest influence in my life. Her strength, generosity, and unwavering commitment to her family taught me the meaning of sacrifice and selfless service. In public service, I also admire leaders like John Lewis and John McCain, whose ability to bridge divides, champion justice, and stand firm on their principles continues to inspire my own leadership and advocacy.
The most important characteristics for an elected official include integrity, accountability, and empathy. An official must listen actively and respond transparently to the needs of their constituents, acting with honesty and a deep sense of service. True leadership requires an unwavering commitment to fairness, respect for diverse backgrounds, and the courage to make difficult decisions guided by principle rather than political expediency.
Resilience and humility are essential, especially when facing setbacks, criticism, or complex problems. Officials ought to value collaboration, seek bipartisan solutions, and prioritize the public interest above personal ambition. It is vital to remain accessible and rooted in the realities of everyday people, consistently working to build bridges and empower others. These qualities ensure that government is not only effective but also just, compassionate, and trustworthy—qualities I strive to embody at every stage of service.
The core responsibilities include being a steadfast advocate for the district, upholding the Constitution, and advancing policies that enhance the well-being of all constituents. Elected officials must maintain fiscal responsibility, provide oversight, and craft legislation that promotes equal opportunity, safety, and economic vitality. Defending the rights of every citizen is paramount, as is encouraging civic engagement and open government. Service in this office is a privilege that demands humility, diligence, and an unwavering focus on justice and accountability. Above all, a representative must use their position to lift others, protect communities, and foster hope for a better future.
I hope to be remembered as a unifier—a logical thinker, protector, and leader who brought people together for positive change. My vision is to leave a legacy of caring service, inspired by a deep belief in fairness and community. I want to demonstrate that integrity, empathy, and courage can drive meaningful progress and empower future generations to strive for dignity and justice for all.
One of the first historical events I vividly remember is the Challenger Space Shuttle disaster in 1986. I was a young child at the time, but the images and national conversation about loss, courage, and perseverance resonated deeply with me. It was a formative moment reminding us all of the importance of striving for greatness while always prioritizing safety and care for each other.
My very first job was working in the fields as a young teenager to help support my family during financially difficult times. I spent many seasons toiling alongside migrant workers, learning the value of perseverance, teamwork, and determination. This experience shaped my appreciation for the dignity of hard work and taught me early on the importance of resilience in the face of adversity. Those years left a lasting impact on my character and my commitment to advocating for working families.
One of my favorite books is “Great Quotes from Great Leaders” by Peggy Anderson. It’s a collection that reminds me of the wisdom and resolve required to lead and uplift others. The stories and words of past leaders help guide my public service and inspire me to uphold values of honesty, vision, and integrity.
If I could be any fictional character, I would choose Atticus Finch from “To Kill a Mockingbird.” He embodies courage, empathy, and an unwavering commitment to justice even when it is difficult or unpopular. His example of quiet strength reminds us that real leadership is rooted in compassion, fairness, and the willingness to stand up for what is right.
Life has consistently brought challenges that tested perseverance from growing up with limited financial resources and coping with the loss of loved ones to overcoming injuries during military service and balancing demanding career responsibilities with family. These struggles instilled humility, adaptability, and hope, pushing me to become stronger and deepening my commitment to giving back whenever possible.
Yet perhaps my greatest struggle has been stepping into the spotlight being in front of cameras, taking photos, or publicly sharing my achievements. Service has always meant quietly helping others and moving forward without fanfare. Now, as a candidate, I recognize that transparency and visibility are needed to truly advocate for my constituents. While this shift takes adjusting, my resolve to do whatever it takes for the greater good is unwavering. The challenge of embracing public life is another chapter in my journey to serve one I now face with purpose and determination.
The U.S. House is unique in its direct connection to the people, with members representing distinct districts and responding quickly to local concerns. Its frequent elections ensure accountability and agility, and its diverse membership brings a broad range of perspectives to national policy. The House also initiates fiscal legislation and provides a critical check on executive power, reflecting the changing needs and voices of constituents.
Previous experience in government or politics can provide valuable insights into policy, process, and collaboration. However, lived experience and fresh perspectives are just as critical for a healthy democracy. The most effective legislative bodies blend seasoned leaders with newcomers who bring innovative ideas and practical wisdom, allowing government to evolve and truly meet the needs of the people.
Too often, elected officials become disconnected from the realities faced by their constituents, causing the focus to shift from public service to self-interest. Representatives grounded in lived experience sense the urgency of getting things done and are compelled to enact measures that prevent hardship from recurring. By valuing both experience and authentic perspective, we build a Congress that is responsive, resilient, and driven to serve every community equitably.
America’s greatest challenges will include affordable healthcare access, economic inequality, addressing climate change, defending democracy, and restoring faith in our institutions. Bridging the divisions in our society, reforming education, and protecting public safety will also demand decisive leadership and vision.
A two-year term keeps representatives accountable and closely attuned to their districts. It requires members to stay engaged and responsive, but can also create pressure to focus on short-term solutions over long-term strategy. Effective representation depends on this balance—maintaining dynamic leadership while allowing enough time to pursue meaningful change. I believe two years is appropriate, but it demands strong commitment to consistent service and constituent engagement.
Term limits can provide necessary renewal and prevent career politicians from becoming disconnected from those they serve. They help bring new energy and ideas into government, while reducing the risk of complacency and entrenched power. However, term limits should be balanced with respect for experience and institutional knowledge, ensuring leadership remains responsive and effective.
I aspire to model my service after representatives such as John Lewis and John McCain, whose courage and integrity transcended political divides. Their dedication to country, willingness to speak hard truths, and lifelong mission to protect civil rights and stand up for the marginalized inspire me to lead with empathy, accountability, and honor. Both were principled advocates who put service before self and worked relentlessly to create a more just and united nation.
One story that deeply affected me was the account of families impacted by the Thiokol-Woodbine explosion in Camden County. Despite suffering unimaginable loss, these families continue to struggle for recognition and accountability decades later. Their perseverance in the face of adversity reminds me how crucial it is for elected officials to ensure the voices of the vulnerable are not only heard but also honored with action and support. Their fight for justice strengthens my resolve to advocate for those whose challenges too often go unseen.
Compromise is essential for effective policymaking in a diverse democracy. It allows leaders to bridge differences, find common ground, and advance solutions that reflect the broad interests of all Americans. Without compromise, progress stalls and polarization deepens. Productive negotiation is the foundation of responsive and durable legislation.
The House’s power to originate revenue bills is essential for championing policies that directly reflect the needs and priorities of constituents. As a representative, I would use this authority to advance legislation that promotes fiscal responsibility, funds healthcare and public education, invests in local infrastructure, and ensures government dollars serve the public interest not special interests. This power enables direct accountability to our communities, transparency in taxation, and responsiveness to challenges facing working families and small businesses.
The House should use its investigative powers to safeguard democracy, ensure accountability, and protect citizens. These powers must be exercised with integrity and fairness to reveal the truth—whether regarding public officials, government agencies, or corporate practices. Robust investigations should result in clear oversight, public transparency, and actionable reforms that serve justice and prevent abuses of power. Ultimately, the House’s investigative authority is a cornerstone of its constitutional duty to uphold the values and laws of our nation.
One of the most moving stories I’ve heard comes from families still seeking recognition after the Thiokol-Woodbine explosion. Despite decades without acknowledgment or justice, their persistence and determination show the true spirit of our community. Their strength keeps me focused on advocating for those who often feel left behind or unheard.
I am proudest of my work helping secure housing for struggling families and veterans, both through advocacy and by building coalitions that tackle tough community challenges. Supporting families in crisis and championing legislative change has shown me the transformative power of local action. My efforts have brought relief, hope, and new opportunities to those who need them most.
Additionally, I have worked to bridge the gap between communities and local governments—raising awareness of residents’ living conditions and mobilizing teams of city officials to address issues commonly overlooked but critical to community well-being. Navigating these efforts in a deeply conservative district, I have proven my ability to work across the aisle and foster productive collaboration, demonstrating a commitment to effective leadership and real results for all constituents.
The government should champion responsible and ethical development of artificial intelligence while enacting safeguards to protect civil rights, privacy, and economic opportunity. Federal leadership is needed to promote innovation, regulate potential risks, and ensure AI technologies serve all Americans equitably. This includes supporting workforce transitions, protecting against bias or misuse, and prioritizing transparency in public and private sector applications.
I would support bipartisan legislation to modernize and secure elections, expanding access through automatic voter registration, protecting against cyber threats, ensuring transparency in campaign finance, and prohibiting partisan gerrymandering. Voters should have equal opportunities to participate, regardless of background or location, with clear protections for fair counts, open reporting, and robust post-election audits to reinforce public trust in our democracy.

I am a disabled Marine veteran and retired federal police officer holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Originally from the tranquil town of Reddick, Florida, where life was uneventful, I grew up toiling in the fields until I completed high school. I pursued higher education on a track and field scholarship but had to leave college in my sophomore year due to my mother's health issues. To support my mother and siblings while continuing my studies, I enlisted in the Marine Corps. Tragically, my mother passed away from a brain tumor while I was on active duty. I sustained injuries during a deployment and underwent recovery at the Wounded Warrior Regiment in Balboa Hospital, San Diego, where I completed my degree. Transitioning into a career in law enforcement, I specialized in integrated training, community relations, and various levels of force protection and anti-terrorism measures at a regional level. My wife, a retired Navy Chief, and I have been enjoying our retirement in Camden County for nearly a decade, raising our three boys who are active members of the wrestling team. Following years of observing societal challenges and a lack of accountability among our elected officials, I decided to step up and address these issues by running for office. My retirement is now dedicated to serving my country once more with the honor. Semper Fidelis.
  • In response to past events that have contributed to the mistrust of our elected officials. I will advocate for accountability among our elected officials, emphasizing the importance of integrity and honor in the eyes of our citizens. Ensuring that our residents are treated with dignity and respect in the pursuit of equality and justice will be a top priority.
  • On day one, I would prioritize transparency and commit to being open and available for discussions and votes. It is essential to me that citizens feel empowered to voice their opinions, as I have personally experienced the frustration of feeling unheard. This lack of representation must be rectified. Regular town hall meetings will be held to ensure that we are meeting the needs of the people to the best of our abilities.
  • Our primary focus will be on addressing district 180 issues. It is imperative that we concentrate on resolving local concerns before venturing into matters beyond our immediate responsibilities. Every discussion will center around local topics, with key areas of focus being infrastructure improvements, environmental and historic preservation, enhancing education, mental health support, fostering job growth, and improving public services within our community. Additionally, I believe in fostering more community activities to strengthen community relations.
I am deeply passionate about expanding healthcare access to all individuals. I strongly believe in promoting a healthy Georgia, as our current high mortality rate is partly attributed to the lack of affordable healthcare. The trend towards privatizing medical services to private companies has resulted in the closure of several hospitals, further exacerbating our mortality rates. Implementing Medicaid Expansion has shown successful outcomes, not only saving lives and improving citizens' health but also reducing healthcare costs for individuals or citizens state wide.
My mother was by far the greatest influencer of my life that hasn’t changed.
In my opinion, relatable experiences can be invaluable as they provide a deeper understanding of various situations and can greatly influence decision-making processes.
I feel that I can connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds and engage in meaningful conversations with them. My ability to actively listen allows me to comprehend and empathize with a wide range of people I interact with.
To uphold accountability to the people, maintain a strong sense of morality, and serve as the voice of those I represent.
That I was a unifier, a logical thinker, a protector, and a very rational and caring individual.
I began working at a very young age due to my family's financial struggles, and I have vivid memories of toiling in the fields for as far back as I can recall.

Great Quotes from Great Leaders: Words from the Leaders Who Shaped the World
Life presents itself as a continuous struggle; just when you believe you have it all figured out, reality swoops in to remind you that there is always more to learn.
The ideal relationship between the governor and state legislature is one based on cooperation, communication, and mutual respect. Both branches of government play important roles in governance, with the governor responsible for executing laws and policies while the state legislature creates and passes them.

A healthy balance of power and a spirit of collaboration are key to effective governance. The governor and state legislature should work together to address the needs of the state, find common ground on important issues, and strive to serve the best interests of the public. Open communication, negotiation, and compromise are essential elements in fostering a productive relationship between these branches of government.
Having previous experience in government or politics can be beneficial for state legislators. Experience can provide valuable insights into how the government functions, understanding of the legislative process, knowledge of policy issues, and familiarity with the political landscape. It can also help legislators navigate complex decision-making processes and build relationships with colleagues to effectively work towards achieving legislative goals.

While prior experience can be advantageous, it is not always a necessity. Fresh perspectives and diverse backgrounds can also bring new ideas and innovation to the legislative process. Ultimately, a mix of experienced legislators and newcomers can contribute to a dynamic and effective state legislature.
Yes, building relationships with other legislators can be highly beneficial. Strong relationships with other legislators can facilitate cooperation, collaboration, and consensus-building, which are essential in the legislative process. Networking and forming alliances with colleagues can help legislators advance their agendas, work on bipartisan initiatives, and achieve positive outcomes for their constituents.
I like senator John McCain, John Lewis, John F Kennedy Barack Obama
The Thiokol-Woodbine explosion occurred on May 4, 1971, in Woodbine, Georgia. The explosion happened at the Thiokol Chemical Corporation plant, which produced solid rocket fuel. The explosion caused extensive damage to the plant and surrounding areas, resulting in a number of injuries and fatalities. The incident led to investigations into safety standards at the facility and raised concerns about the handling of hazardous materials. To this day, the individuals and their families have not received compensation for the events that occurred, nor have they been heard. This tragedy remains unnoticed, buried in time. Given the chance, I would ensure that all those affected are acknowledged for their efforts and the challenges they have faced following the explosion.
That often depends on the specific country's constitution and legal framework. However, in general, it is considered best practice for the legislature to have oversight over the executive branch's use of emergency powers.

Granting emergency powers to the executive branch without any checks and balances can lead to potential abuses of power and threats to democracy. Therefore, having the legislature involved in overseeing the declaration and use of emergency powers can help ensure accountability, transparency, and adherence to the rule of law.

By requiring the executive to justify the need for emergency powers to the legislature and potentially seeking approval or periodic review, the system can help prevent the misuse or overextension of emergency powers. This oversight mechanism can also help balance the need for swift action in times of crisis with the protection of individual rights and democratic principles.

In conclusion, while emergency powers may sometimes be necessary to address crises effectively, it is generally advisable for the legislature to be involved in overseeing or granting such powers to safeguard the democratic process and protect the interests of the public.

Financial transparency and government accountability are crucial principles for ensuring trust, integrity, and efficiency in governance.

Financial transparency helps promote accountability by allowing citizens to see how public funds are being utilized, thereby reducing corruption and misuse of resources. It also enhances public trust in government institutions and decision-making processes.

Government accountability is essential for ensuring that public officials are held responsible for their actions and decisions. Through mechanisms such as audits, oversight, and reporting, accountability can help prevent abuse of power and foster good governance.

Overall, financial transparency and government accountability are fundamental pillars of a healthy democracy and are essential for promoting trust, integrity, and efficiency in the public sector.
A state ballot initiative process could empower citizens to directly participate in lawmaking and bypass the state legislature on certain issues. This could be seen as a positive step towards direct democracy and increased citizen engagement. However, some argue that the process may lead to unintended consequences, potentially favoring well-funded interest groups or causing challenges in implementation.

Therefore, it is essential for the people of Georgia to carefully consider the potential benefits and drawbacks of implementing a state ballot initiative process and evaluate how it aligns with the state's values, goals, and overall governance structure.
