Deidre Olivera
Deidre Olivera was a Democratic candidate for District 41 representative on the New York City Council in New York. She was defeated in the primary election on September 12, 2017.
Biography
Olivera earned an associate degree from Fulton-Montgomery Community College and a bachelor's degree from The College of New Rochelle.[1]
At the time of her 2017 run for city council, Olivera was a small business owner. Her experience includes work as a skilled laborer and journeywoman and service as the editor-in-chief of The Brownsville Collective Community Newspaper, the president of the Waverly School of Arts PTA, a co-vice chair for Millennial Brooklyn High School, and the owner and founder of "Woman Up!"[2]
