Deirdre W. Edmonds
Deirdre W Edmonds is a probate judge for Horry County, South Carolina.[1] Edmonds was elected to this position on November 5, 2002.[2] She was unsuccessful in her 2014 bid for re-election, losing to Kathy G. Ward in the primary on June 10. Edmonds retired at the end of her term in 2014.[3]

Primary: She was defeated in the Republican primary on June 10, 2014, receiving 47.4 percent of the vote. She competed against Kathy G. Ward.

Edmonds was re-elected to the probate court after running unopposed.[5]
Education
Edmonds earned her B.A. in political science from the University of South Carolina in 1984. She went on to receive her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1987.[2]
Career
Edmonds worked as an attorney for Bellamy, Rutenberg, Copeland, Epps, Gravely, & Bowers, P.A. after graduating from law school. During this time, she focused on estate planning, probate, corporate, tax, and elder law. She then worked with the law firm of Kathryn Cook DeAngelo from 1977 to 2001. Edmonds was then elected the probate judge of Horry County on November 5, 2002.[2]
