Delaware held an election for attorney general on November 8, 2022. The primary was scheduled for September 13, 2022. The filing deadline was July 12, 2022. This was one of 30 elections for attorney general taking place in 2022. All 50 states have an attorney general who serves as the state's chief legal officer, responsible for enforcing state law and offering the state government advice on legal matters. In 43 states, the office was, at the time of the 2022 elections, an elected post. At the time of the 2022 elections, there were 27 Republican attorneys general and 23 Democratic attorneys general. Click here for an overview of all 30 attorney general elections that took place in 2022. A state government triplex refers to a situation where the governor, attorney general, and secretary of state are all members of the same political party. Heading into the 2022 elections, there were 23 Republican triplexes, 18 Democratic triplexes, and nine divided governments where neither party held triplex control.

In September 2022, Sabato's Crystal Ball released an analysis of state attorney general election competitiveness. Delaware's attorney general election was rated as not competitive, meaning the seat was expected to stay in Democratic hands: "In this solidly blue state, Jennings is the heavy favorite over Republican attorney Julianne Murray, who lost the most recent gubernatorial race." Public Safety is Priority Number 1. The failure to prosecute criminals has reduced public safety.

Crime is on the rise. We are not safer than we were 4 years ago because of the current Attorney General's soft-on-crime policies

We have to get guns out of the hands of criminals. Since our current Attorney General took office almost 1000 people have been killed or wounded by guns in Delaware. Our current AG is dropping 85% of Possession of Firearm During Commission of a Felony and Possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited - both crimes have minimum mandatory sentences
Public safety, crime and that justice should be blind and non-partisan. I am also passionate that we should be keeping politics out of the office of the Attorney General and that the job is about enforcing the law.
Absolutely. Delaware has an "F" rating in human trafficking so that is an area I would emphasize. I would also emphasize prosecuting gun crimes to the fullest extent of the law so that we can get guns out of the hands of criminals.
There are two that i consider the most important: 1) Setting the tone with law enforcement that crimes are going to be prosecuted and 2) Being the People's Lawyer. The Office has a robust civil division that helps the citizens of Delaware and I think that is important. However, because I consider safety to be "higher" in the hierarchy of needs we have to first address the rampant crime in Delaware.
I am down to earth and direct. The citizens of Delaware need an Attorney General that will be be transparent and communicate with them about what is happening in the office
