The Delaware School Boards Association (DSBA) is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization of school boards in Delaware that offers resources, support, and trainings for local school boards and advocates for school boards in state politics.[1][2] As of November 2025, the DSBA is the state chapter of the National School Boards Association.
Background
The DSBA was founded in 1946.[2] The DSBA said it is "dedicated to advancing the quality of Delaware’s public schools, promoting efficient and effective administration of those schools and strengthening the tradition of local citizen control through the establishment of education policy by elected and appointed school board members directly accountable to the communities they serve."[2] As of November 2025, the DSBA states that its membership comprises 124 state and local school board members.[2]

Legislative and policy work
The DSBA's Legislative Committee, comprising representatives from local school boards and the State Board of Education, worked to develop education priorities and track state legislation that could affect schools.[2] As of November 2025, the Delaware School Boards Association had a registered lobbyist with the Delaware Public Integrity Commission.[4]
