The right to vote is a fundamental principle of our democracy. When more Americans can participate in our elections, the outcome better reflects who we are. The fight to increase voters’ access to the polls--including expanding early voting, automatic and online voter registration.

Homelessness will end only if we work from a social justice framework, build a mass movement, and ensure policy and financial support from all levels of government, We need to organize around people and not just issues and take the time and effort to build relationships that cross-class, race and religion. Until we recognize housing as a human right, along with quality education, economic security, and health care, we will not end mass homelessness

Every child deserves a quality education regardless of financial background, race, gender, or ability in which they are encouraged to be creative and expand their minds. Expansion of universal pre-kindergarten Competitive salaries for teachers and support staff Investing in the arts and after-school programs that keep kids engaged Expanding apprenticeships and technical training for modern careers
Criminal Justice -- The American criminal justice system is dysfunctional and propagates structural inequality and racism. A series of systemic changes is required to reform criminal justice, to be fairer and restorative.

Housing -- Housing is a foundational right for economic liberty, and it is imperative that local, state, and federal institutions do everything in their power to provide safe shelter for all. Healthcare -- Healthcare is a human right, and the most efficient way to ensure this is through Medicare for All. This includes the right to an abortion funded by Medicaid. Education -- Equitable and free pre-K through college education is a right and is foundational for a democratic and prosperous society. Democracy -- The act of voting should be as simple and secure as possible. I’m a firm believer in freedom to vote, ensuring every voice is heard. We must create a transparent process we can trust, that is safe and accessible to all. I’m currently working on a policy for an independent redistricting commission, to create fair maps for our redistricting process going forward. To create fair maps that does not unduly favor any person or party.

Characteristics of an elected official is someone who can be a little bit of everything to everyone you interact with. Someone looking to become an elected official has to be someone who is good at building relationships with community members and other community leaders. To be a team player, showing respect to others on the team but be mentally stable to get your community needs met. An elected official must be open to hear and understand the needs of others. WIth also doing your research to create long lasting changes that will uplift the community members for years to come.
I've been advocating and community organizing for the communities rights for 10 years. Joining the League of Women Voters of Delaware (a non partisan organization) has helped me builded more relationship within the legislature on both sides of the aisle. Educating and working with the public is one of my favorite things to do, as you can take an issue that is effecting a neighbor, create policy and watch their lives change for the better. We have issues that are not being addressed as current legislators due not understand the needs of the communities.
Imagine by John Lennon. I'm sure this song doesn't seem like much to some but I sometimes cry when I hear it. You might say it is my theme song.

You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world You You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one

Environmental change is as of now affecting the First State and long periods of forceful advancement implies we are losing our imperative normal assets, like clean water and air which is vital for physical and mental health. We are feeling the effects of expanded flooding, more regular and serious downpour occasions and increasing temperatures. These developing difficulties are focusing on foundation, undermining human and natural communities and overburdening our resources. We must work together to build more capacity, strengthen coordination, support undeserved communities and increase available resources to fund programs and projects that build resilience. We face other squeezing natural difficulties in Delaware, remembering ecological equity for overburdened networks, water quality of our streams and waterways, holding and expanding woods, greening our networks, land safeguarding, clean energy, and solid land use strategy. Further developing local area schooling and commitment on these issues is both a test and a vital piece of the answer for beat these difficulties.
Building relationships with other legislators can help strengthen the policies that are good for all. As a district legislator in a small state it is important to have trusted relationships to create laws that work across district lines. Having strong relationships within your party and able to cross the aisle will move meaningful legislation forward.
In our elections, every voice should be heard and every vote should count equally. An Independent Redistricting Commission is a body separate from the legislature that is responsible for drawing the districts used in congressional and state legislative elections. In most states, the state legislature is responsible for drawing and approving electoral districts with a simple majority. Because this process – known as redistricting – generally involves legislators whose careers depend on how the lines are drawn, both major political parties have used the process to unfairly strip voters of their voice. Having a non partisan independent commission would ensure Fair Maps, avoiding racial gerrymandering and buddy-mandering, Not be created so as to unduly favor any person or political party.
We all live here and we need to make our state a place were everyone has their voice heard and rights protected. Working towards common ground too create policies that would uplift all communities not just a small population.

With our ever changing world there are areas that can not be compromised and some refuse to find common ground. I will not sell out the morals of myself or my community to create a bandaid legislation.
