Due dates for reports

In general reports are due on the 31st of December the year of the election and the following year. Reports are also due on the 30th day and the 8th day preceding an election. For 2012, the general election filing deadlines were on October 7, 2012 and October 29, 2012; both days were Mondays.

Jack Markell

Approximately $1 million—about 52% of the $1.9 million raised for Markell's gubernatorial campaign since January 2011—came from out-of-state donors.[9] Campaign finance reports showed that in 2011 and 2012, roughly $964,500, or just under half of the campaign’s total fundraising, was contributed by Delaware residents and organizations, including $75,000 from the state Democratic Party.[9]

More than 18% of Markell's campaign funds—approximately $368,300—came from over 560 donors in Pennsylvania. Contributions from Maryland totaled nearly $112,000, while donors from New York and New Jersey combined to give around $257,750, accounting for roughly 13% of the total raised. Additionally, Markell's campaign finance reports listed contributions from Alabama, Maine, Colorado, Montana, and even a single donor from Japan.[9]

Markell’s fundraising for this campaign differed from his 2008 race, during which approximately 60% of the over $4 million he raised came from businesses and individual donors within Delaware.[9]

Jeff Cragg

Cragg raised $60,000 in his campaign, which included $26,250 from himself.[9]
