Delia will meet Denton County's needs with passion, professionalism, and proactive problem solving
  • We need real leadership for a change.
  • It's More than Roads and Bridges
  • Platitudes and Prayers alone is not Active Leadership
I am concerned with Access to Voting. There are some areas in Precinct three that are "voting deserts." We need to make Denton County a voting center so that residents can vote on election day at any location.

Lack of access to health care is a major problem. Currently Denton County has the toughest standards to qualify for indigent health care. The standard makes over 90% of people in poverty ineligible. The COVID-19 crisis is heavily impacting Precinct 3. The availability of health care services is going to be crucial.

Criminal Justice reform is important. One aspect is the school-to-prison pipeline caused by our lack of mental health services. Currently the largest provider of mental health for juveniles is our detention center. We need leadership that can bring the community together to address this mental health crisis for our children.
I look up to my parents. My father was a Vietnam Veteran who volunteered to go back into the jungle and rescue his fellow soldiers. My mother was a waitress who worked long hours. Even after she would come home tired to the bones, she kneeled beside her bed and prayed each night. I would watch her in the door way. I learned the importance of community and the value of service to others. I learned that it is bigger than me. I've patterned my personal and professional career based on that understanding.
The first event I recall is the Nixon Watergate scandal. I was five years old.
My first job was working at Burger King. I held for the entire summer before I went back to college.
The power to make access to voting easier is fundamental to Democracy. This office possess that power. The direction of business growth and its impact on homeowners and existing small businesses. COVID-19 has taught us the importance of community health and how leadership within this office can impact it.
