A Delray Beach City Commissioner/Mayor Term Length Amendment proposition was approved on the March 12, 2013 election ballot in Palm Beach County, which is in Florida.

This measure amended the Delray Beach City Charter to make the terms of commission members including the mayor to be three years instead of two while leaving intact the six consecutive year limit commissioner office.[1]

“ CURRENTLY, THE COMMISSION MEMBERS (INCLUDING THE MAYOR) SERVE TWO YEAR TERMS AND ARE LIMITED FROM HOLDING OFFICE FOR MORE THAN SIX CONSECUTIVE YEARS. THE CHARTER AMENDMENT PROPOSES THE TERM LENGTHS BE CHANGED FROM TWO YEARS TO THREE YEARS BUT STILL PROVIDE THAT THE COMMISSION MEMBERS (INCLUDING THE MAYOR) ARE LIMITED FROM HOLDING OFFICE FOR MORE THAN SIX CONSECUTIVE YEARS. SHOULD THE ABOVE-DESCRIBED CHARTER AMENDMENT BE ADOPTED?[1][2] ”
