Demetress Morris
Demetress Morris was a candidate for an at-large seat on the Milpitas Unified Board of Education in California. She was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014.
Biography
Morris is a community activist and member of the Milpitas Planning Commission. Since 2004 she has been working to close the achievement gap for minority students through her nonprofit, Flame Keepers.[1]

The election in Milpitas Unified featured three seats up for general election on November 4, 2014. There was no primary election.
Incumbents Danny Lau and William Foulk ran for re-election against the following six challengers: Russ Bargstadt, Vance Vuong, David Freeman, Demetress Morris, Robert Nunez and Chris Norwood. Lau won his bid for re-election, but Foulk came in fourth. Norwood and Nunez won election to the board.
