Demetria Brue is a judge of the Michigan 36th District Court. She assumed office in 2012. Her current term ends on January 1, 2027.

Brue ran for re-election for judge of the Michigan 36th District Court. She won in the general election on November 3, 2020.

Brue was appointed by Governor Rick Snyder on August 22, 2012, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Willie Lipscomb. Brue was then elected to the court on November 4, 2014, to serve out the remainder of Lipscomb's term.[1][2] 

Biography

Education

Brue received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and her J.D. degree from the Wayne State University Law School.[3]

Career

Before her appointment to the 36th District Court, Brue served as an assistant prosecutor in Wayne County.[1] She also previously worked as a defense attorney in private practice and as an assistant prosecutor for Oakland County.[3]
