Having been raised in a family of small business owners and first-responders, Demi Busatta Cabrera has always understood the importance of hard work and sacrifice. It was these values engrained in her from an early age that led her to public service and it's her experience and commitment to our community that will make her an effective State Representative for our District.

Demi works for a non-profit for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities and will fight for additional resources for those who are often the forgotten group. Demi will bring her passion for helping her community and her experience in public service to Tallahassee, ensuring our community has a seat at the table.

"If I have the honor and privilege to serve our community, it's my responsibility to represent the entire community, not just one type of person, or one party. I will always be there to listen and to fight for our community"
  • The threat to our coastline is not a partisan issue- it is a Floridian issue. I am committed to passing bipartisan legislation to protect our waterways from pollution and combat sea level rise. We must pass comprehensive legislation that allows Florida to effectively combat climate change and stop the pollution that kills our ecosystems.
  • Protect our community and our economy from a resurgence of COVID-19, by enacting procedures that allow for an immediate response to future public health crises.
  • Provide our schools and teachers with the resources they need to offer a world class education in a safe and healthy environment
Having been born and raised in Florida, I know firsthand the beauty our natural treasures have to offer and we must protect them for future generations to come. Our community needs bold leadership at the Capitol that will protect our natural treasures and fight for a plan to combat sea level rise.

As the daughter and granddaughter of small business owners, I know that our small businesses are the backbone of our community and I committed to helping them thrive.

Making sure our schools and teachers have the resources they need to offer a world class education is a top priority. As the daughter of a former public school teacher, I will fight for a step-plan for our teachers who spend their lives serving our community.

It is incredibly important that we maintain the character of our community and prohibit oversized commercial and mixed-use development projects that infringe on residential neighborhoods and green space.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Florida

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.

Click here for an overview of legislative scorecards in all 50 states.  To contribute to the list of Florida scorecards, email suggestions to editor@ballotpedia.org.
