I am a long-term resident of Mount Vernon, where I work, play and raise my family. I have entered this race because I believe this community deserves leadership that listens, takes action, provides transparency, and truly represents the voices of all our residents. I live these values everyday - as a Licensed Practical Nurse, and a Licensed Massage Therapist. More importantly, I use these same values in current position as a Mount Vernon Civil Service Commissioner.

My husband Troy and I have been married 29 years and have two beautiful boys who inspire me everyday to bring compassion, empathy and thoughtful growth into each area of my life.

Through my 34 years of working, volunteering and coaching here in the valley, I have seen firsthand what our residents' concerns truly are- the need for affordable housing, the need for more public safety, and to be more financially responsible with our tax payers dollars. I am committed to bringing progress and innovation to Mount Vernon while still allowing for thoughtful growth and ensuring for its rich history and culture are preserved.

I'm here to work for thoughtful, inclusive, and lasting change, I will be a councilmember who listens before deciding and collaborates instead of dividing.
  • Housing is not a luxury-it is a basic need and a foundation for a thriving, stable community. As your candidate, I am committed to making housing more affordable and accessible for all residents- working families, seniors on fixed incomes, young adults just starting out, and those who have lived here their whole lives but now struggle to stay.

Mount Vernon, is facing a housing crisis. Rising rents and home prices have outpaced wages, leaving many residents cost-burdened or pushed out of their neighborhoods. We need smart, compassionate, and forward-thinking solutions.

I support the opportunity for ADU's and other creative dwellings, the opportunity to partner with nonprofit developers to create long-term affordable units.
  • Public safety is top priority. As your candidate, I will work to ensure our police, fire and emergency services are fully supported, well-trained and responsive to community needs. I believe in proactive safety-investing in mental health services, youth programs, and partnerships that build trust between residents and first responders. I will advocate for smart budgeting that reflects our values and keeps all neighborhoods safe.
  • As your candidate, I am committed to tackling our city's budget deficit with fiscal sustainability and transparency. That means prioritizing essential services, cutting unnecessary spending, and improving efficiency across departments. I will advocate for smart, sustainable budgeting that reflects our community's values- public safety, infrastructure, and support for working families. We must also explore partnerships, grants, and new revenue sources that don't overburden taxpayers. Together, we can build a stronger, more financially responsible Mount Vernon.
I am passionate about healthcare that is both affordable and accessible for all. As an LPN and someone who works closely with families, I have seen how access to care can change lives. I also believe in the power of community, through volunteering and coaching youth soccer; I am fortunate to witness how mentorship and civic engagement helps build stronger, safer neighborhoods. These experiences drive my commitment to public service and shape the policies I support.
I believe that elected officials hold a position of public trust, and with that comes a deep responsibility to serve with integrity, transparency, and accountability. These core values form the foundation of effective and ethical leadership. Integrity ensures that decisions are made for the right reasons, guided by what is best for the community rather than personal or political gain.

Transparency helps build trust between officials and the public by keeping processes open and clear. Accountability means being willing to explain decisions, admit mistakes, and always put the community's interests first.

The most effective elected officials are honest, responsive, thoughtful, and dedicated to building a stronger, more equitable community for all. Leadership is not about power-it's about service.
The responsibilities of a city councilmember is to center around representing the interests of the community, making informed policy decisions, and ensuring that local government operates efficiently, transparently, and in the public's best interest. At it's heart, the role is about service, stewardship, and accountability.

They must be legislating at the local level to include adopting city ordinances, approving budgets, and shaping policies that impact everything from public safety and housing to infrastructure and environmental sustainability. They must also balance short-term needs with long-term planning to ensure a thriving, resilient city.

They should be expected to lead with integrity, make decisions grounded in community needs, and always act in the best interest of their constituents. Their work shapes the daily lives of residents and the long-term direction of the city.
I want to leave a legacy of service, compassion and action. I hope to be remembered as someone who listened, showed up, and made decisions that truly improved people's lives-especially those often overlooked. I would like my legacy to reflect a commitment to equity, inclusion, and empowering others. My goal is that after I have stepped away from City Council, the positive changes we made together will still be felt- and that others will feel inspired to serve our community with the same passion and energy.
My very first job was as a babysitter for a family with two boys for the summer. I remember in the months before I went through a class taught by our local YMCA specifically for babysitting. This class had lessons and taught skills for caring, cleaning and cooking for babies/toddlers. We had to also learn CPR, rules for safety around water and how to navigate an emergency.
I had this job for 3 years while being in middle school and playing sports.
