Denise Almeida-Pomponio
Denise Almeida-Pomponio is a judge of the Florida 13th Circuit Court. She assumed office in 2002. Her current term ends on January 2, 2029.
Almeida-Pomponio won re-election for judge of the Florida 13th Circuit Court outright in the general election on November 8, 2022, after the primary and general election were canceled.
She was appointed to the circuit court by Gov. Jeb Bush in 2002 and was re-elected to a new six-year term in 2016.[1][2]
Education
Pomponio received her B.A. degree (in Criminal Justice) from the University of South Florida in 1979 and her J.D. degree from the South Texas College of Law.[1][3]
Career
Pomponio began her career in 1983 as an assistant state attorney in Hillsborough County. She ran her own law firm from 1990 until 1993, when she returned to the Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office. In 1999, she was appointed to the Hillsborough County Court bench. She was elevated to the circuit court in 2002.[1][3]

General election
The general election was canceled. Denise Almeida-Pomponio (Nonpartisan) won without appearing on the ballot.
2016
Florida's 20 circuit courts all had seats up for election in 2016. Of the 151 seats up for election, 125 saw only one candidate file for the election. The unopposed races were canceled and the sole candidates were automatically elected. Of the 26 opposed races, only 10 saw more than two candidates file. [4]
