Denise Douglas was a candidate for the District 2 seat on the Darlington County School District Board of Education in South Carolina. Douglas was running in the by-district general election on November 8, 2016. She withdrew from the race on August 25, 2016.[1]

Four of the eight seats on the Darlington County School District Board of Education were up for by-district general election on November 8, 2016. District 2 incumbent Connell Delaine filed for re-election and was left unopposed in his bid when former challenger Denise Douglas withdrew from the race on August 25, 2016. Delaine won another term on the board. District 4 incumbent Warren Jeffords successfully defended his seat against challenger Stacie Phillips. The District 6 and 8 incumbents, Charles Govan and Jamie Morphis, filed for re-election to their respective districts. Both were unopposed and won re-election. There was no primary.[2][3]
