I am a wife, mother, grandmother. I have lived in Reno, NV more than 55 years and in Ward 3 more than 15 years.

I have a BS in Environmental Economics, and MS in Safety and Health Management. My experience includes data analysis, root cause analysis, public safety and emergency preparedness. I am the current vice chair of Washoe County Senior Advisory Board, and on the Elks Veterans Service Committee. I am active in my church.

I am proud to call Reno my home and love the diversity we have.
  • I want to reduce crime by increasing our police force and allow them to do their jobs.
  • I want to stimulate our local economy by encouraging new businesses and entrepreneurs by creating programs to help them succeed.
  • I want to support our seniors and veterans by providing the best services possible and remove obstacles that make it difficult for them in their every day life.
As the legislative and governing body of the city, the city council shapes policies that affect the daily lives of its residents. Those decisions include infrastructure, housing and economic development. They are the closest government body to the people and play a crucial role in the City's future.
There is not one specific person I look up to, but I admire those who go beyond their comfort zone to do what is right.
The leaders of our community, elected or appointed, must be held to the highest standards and held accountable in everything they do. Their integrity should never be in question and they should always be willing to give full transparency in all they do. An elected official should not betray the trust they were given when elected.
I believe I would be a successful officeholder as I have held several management positions, have a working knowledge of deep diving into issues and analyzing them, extensive experience in problem solving difficult situations, have successfully worked and interacted with various personalities, both as a team member and as a customer service agent.
The core responsibilities is to represent the people to the full extent of their ability, stand by their word, listen to the needs of the people and act on them decisively.
The legacy I would like to leave is being known to have an open mind, being flexible, being honest and transparent, having the ability to admit if I am wrong, and always doing my best.
My first historical event was the assassination of President Kennedy. I was 11 and in school when I heard the announcement.
My first job was working at a local drive-in and was there for about 3 years.
My favorite book is the Bible. It still holds true today and is the base of my beliefs and principles.
My step-daughter's original tune - Believe. The lyrics touch me and I have used it in my campaign commercials as my theme song.
I struggle with over extending myself. I always want to give of my time and sometimes have done so at the expense of my own well being. When I commit to something, I give 110%.
No, but they should be aware of the constituent issues., and have a background that will help make sound decisions.
A city council member should have had management experience, and since they will be dealing with constituents almost daily, have experience in interacting and problem solving with a variety of people .
I never remember jokes, so don't really have a favorite one.
An elected official should have full financial transparency and accountability.
