Bailey earned an undergraduate degree from Florida Atlantic University. He earned a J.D. from Nova Southeastern University Law School.[1]

Prior to the 2014 judicial election, Bailey's career experience included working as a trial lawyer and as an assistant state attorney.[1]

Primary: He was successful in the primary on August 26, 2014, receiving 27.44 percent of the vote. He competed against Andrea Ruth Gundersen, Rhoda Sokoloff, and Russell Thompson.
General: He faced Rhoda Sokoloff in the general election on November 4, 2014. [2][3]
