Dennis Black (Iowa)
Dennis Black (b. December 18, 1939) is a former Democratic member of the Iowa State Senate, representing District 15 from 1995 to 2015. He previously served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1982 to 1994. Black did not seek re-election in 2014.
Biography
Black earned his B.S. in Forest Management from Utah State University, Logan, in 1963 and his M.S. in Natural Resources Economics in 1965. His professional experience includes working as a natural resources consultant, conservationist, District Commissioner for Jasper County Soil Conservation and Director of the Jasper County Conservation Board.

Black defeated Republican candidate Joe Pirillo by a margin of 13,517 to 12,321 in the November 2 general election.[1]
In the June 8 primary election, Black ran unopposed.[2]

2006
On November 7, 2006, Black was re-elected to the 21st District Seat in the Iowa State Senate, defeating Tim Morgan (R).[3] Black raised $129,131 for his campaign, while Morgan raised $64,303.[4]
