Dennis R. Cimpl was a judge for the Milwaukee County Circuit Court, Branch 19, in Wisconsin.[1] He served from 2005 to 2020. He was first appointed to the bench in 2005 by Governor Jim Doyle.[2] He left office on September 11, 2020.[3]

Cimpl won re-election without opposition in the general election on April 4, 2017.

Education

Cimpl earned his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1972 and later graduated with his J.D. from Marquette University Law School in 1975.[2]

Wisconsin held local judicial elections in 2017. Forty-eight circuit court seats were up for election on April 4, 2017. Three seats required primaries on February 21, 2017, with the top two vote recipients for each seat advancing to the April 4 general election. Thirty-seven seats up for election in 2017 were unopposed.[4] Incumbent Dennis Cimpl ran unopposed in the general election for the Branch 19 seat on the Milwaukee County Circuit Court.
