Dennis Graham
Dennis A. Graham was a judge on the Colorado Court of Appeals. He was appointed by Republican Gov. Bill Owens on July 1, 2002, and sworn in on September 6, 2002. He was retained by voters in 2004 and 2012.[1] His last term would have expired on January 11, 2021.[2] He retired from the court in 2018.[3]
Education
Graham earned his bachelor's degree from Colorado State University in 1968 and his J.D. with distinction from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1975.[4]
Career
Graham began his legal career in 1975 clerking for U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit Judge Robert H. McWilliams. From 1976 to 2002, he practiced complex commercial law with an emphasis in securities. He was appointed to the court of appeals while he was a shareholder and director of the law firm of Krys, Boyle, P.C.[4]

Graham was retained in the general election on November 6, winning 69.89 percent of the vote.[5]
Judicial performance evaluation
The Colorado Commission on Judicial Performance announced its recommendations for judges up for retention in 2012. The commission evaluates judges based on the following criteria: integrity, legal knowledge, communication skills, judicial temperament and administrative performance.[6] Graham was recommended for retention by a 10-0 vote. [7]
