Campaign themes
2016
Hunt's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]
| “ | Rebuilding Our Roads
I will drive the efforts in investing in our roads and bridges and expand broadband internet access to bring all parts of our state into the 21st century. Investing in our Kids I will fight to restore the $750 million funding cut from local public schools and continue to invest in our children Putting Wisconsin to Work I will work across the aisle to create more good paying, middle class jobs and supporting the businesses that provide them. Return Local Control to Communities We need to stop letting Walker and Madison send us unfunded mandates that our communities don't want. I want to restore power on the local level so that the people who know whats best for their area are the ones making decisions. Support our Most Vulnerable Neighbors Wisconsin needs to provide stability and care for our elderly, disabled and veterans. Family Care and IRIS are critical programs negotiated in bi-partisan efforts and should not be privatized. Our neighbors in the 67th Assembly are struggling with serious mental health problems, suicides, and drugs. We are going to be a more successful community if we invest in our neighbors in need early enough to help them remain or become more productive members of the community.[2] |
