Dennis K. McDermott was a multi-bench judge for the Madison County Family Court, Madison County Surrogate's Court, and Madison County Court in New York. He began serving in this position in April of 2001. He retired in 2019.[1][2][3][4]

McDermott also served as an acting justice of the Madison County Supreme Court, beginning in January of 2006.[5][6]

Education

McDermott received his B.A. degree from St. Bonaventure University in 1972 and his J.D. degree from the Albany Law School of Union University in 1975.[1]

Career

McDermott began his career in 1976 as a partner of the law firm of Nemeti, McDermott, Eppolito & Hedglon. He worked in this position until 2001, when he joined the Madison County Family, and Surrogate's Courts. He was elected to a full term on the Madison County Court in 2002 and began serving as an acting supreme court Justice in 2006.[1]

McDermott was re-elected without opposition on November 8th with 99.6 percent of the vote.[3][7][8]
