An effort to recall Dennis Knowles and Trenton Bowens from their elected positions as city commissioners in Benton Harbor, Michigan city government was launched in July 2012 and abandoned in August 2012.[1]

Background

Jerry Price and Corey Bell filed the recall petitions. The recall petitions accused Knowles and Bowens of "failure to work diligently with the state of Michigan to swiftly resolve the financial emergency in the city of Benton Harbor." The petitions were rejected at an August 13 clarity hearing.[2] Knowles is behind a separate attempt to recall Benton Harbor Mayor James Hightower.
