Krueger answered the following questions from Lake Country Now:

What strengths do you bring to the school board?

I have been an active member of the KM School Board since 2004. I have served as president and vice president. I was active in transforming the board's governing model to policy governance and have been fiscally responsible while planning and adopting budgets that assured high academic achievement KM students.

What would you like to see changed to draw staff and/or students to the district?

The board needs to study options for hiring and retaining the best staff available. More needs to be done to recognize and compensate teachers for bringing successful innovation to education options for students.

What do you see as the next steps for the district after referendum construction is complete?

Making certain facilities and infrastructure remain up-to-date and that the facilities and infrastructure continue to provide the best educational delivery available to the students the district serves.

What is the biggest challenge facing the district?

Addressing reductions in state aid resulting in local taxpayer revenue being diverted to other districts and unproven, unaccountable education programs such as private charter schools and voucher schools.

How do you propose to address that challenge?

The board began to take action at the state level to address these concerns during my tenure. If elected, I will continue to work to draw attention to the unfair funding formula that allows the state to divert tax revenue to programs the district does not provide services for, including voucher schools.
