I was born and raised in the North St. Louis County area, the son of a now retired police chief and a bookkeeper. My parents taught us to be focused, loyal and honest at all times. My mother has worked for the same employer for over 30 years! We faced countless struggles that many lower to middle class families face. I watched my father work tirelessly two and sometimes three jobs to help support his three children. The work ethic of my parents was passed on to me. After graduating from Jennings High School in 1999 as Valedictorian, I explored the traditional approach of college. Initially I wasn't prepared for the culture shock and left college to enter the workforce. Now 20 years later, I have been in the same industry my entire career, working my way up the ladder with hard work and a constant desire to learn more. What began as an hourly job making folders on a fulfillment floor by hand for $7.50 an hour has progressed to Senior Management roles. While working I went back to school full-time and have earned advanced degrees in Business Management. So I am not a politician (although I did get an A+ on my Political Science Thesis). I am the average working class citizen who has fought hard to make a difference. Government is a non-for-profit business in the end, and those with significant business backgrounds can show great success. More importantly, though, I believe those who have a genuine concern for the average citizen and understands the struggles they face.
  • Healthcare needs to be affordable and accessible for all
  • Politics needs to be returned to the control of the normal working citizen
  • Public Education is critical for our future.

My hero is my father. I follow his example in every aspect of my life. My dad is a retired Police Chief. He has served his community throughout my life. He is especially focused on our young citizens. It truly amazes me how many he has impacted to the point that they too call him "Dad".
I believe the core responsibilities of this office revolve around the average citizen. It is critical to listen to the needs of constituents in your own area and vote with a concern for your community. Bills should be introduced with the consideration of those who elected you in mind at all time. National politics should not have a place in decisions.
I've always thought about my legacy and what will be noted on my tombstone when I leave this world. I want it to say simply, "Dennis made it his life's mission to show compassion and concern for his fellow man. He worked tirelessly to help others."
"Uptown Funk" with Bruno Mars. It's the line "Don't Believe Me Just Watch". Speaks volumes of my campaign. Many say my opponent cannot be beat. I will win for the common man. "Don't Believe Me? Just watch."
I truly do not believe that. In fact, I believe it can be a hindrance on progress. Career politicians, like my opponent, are often indebted to others. Simultaneously their focus becomes solely on re-election efforts and not on listening to constituents and catering to the needs of the citizens.
I believe 2 years is too short. This causes the constant election cycle that we currently face. 4 years would be much more sufficient in my opinion to introduce processes, procedures and truly impact change. Especially for new members of Congress.
I believe term limits should be implemented and enforced. The absence of these has led to the lifelong politician crisis we currently face.
