I’m a lifelong Alaskan, husband, and proud father to three children who attend our local Anchorage public schools. After meeting my wife Lisa while attending UAF, we served in the Peace Corps together and came back to Anchorage to build a life and family together. Before opening my own small business, I spent a decade working in the oil and gas industry in Alaska. I’m running because I believe Alaska’s best days are still ahead. I’ll work to ensure a bright and prosperous future for Alaskans today and for future generations. If you have questions, concerns, or ideas you’d like to share with me, you can reach me on my personal number (907) 360-8608.
  • Pro-Education - Education is the best investment we can make in the long-term success of our people, economy, and future. As your representative, I will fight for our community to ensure our students have access to high-quality education from Pre-K through our Universities and trade schools. I'll be a stalwart and vocal advocate for stable and adequate funding for our local schools, the University of Alaska, and trade and apprenticeship opportunities.
  • Pro-Freedom - Alaskans value community, but we also value independence and the right to not have the government interfere with our personal affairs. I will uphold our state's constitution, which protects the inherent right to privacy for all Alaskans. I will fight to ensure government doesn't interfere with your personal decisions, including personal healthcare decisions best left up to Alaskans and their physician.
  • Pro-Public Safety - As I’ve gone door-to-door over the last year, crime, public safety, and homelessness have been top concerns among friends and neighbors in our community. I’m proud to be supported by police officers and firefighters in Anchorage. As your representative, I will fight to ensure we have a safe and healthy community by:

-Investing in our police and first responders and ensuring competitive benefits and retirements to promote recruitment and retention.

-Expanding mental health and addiction services so those struggling can get treatment.

-Supporting common-sense criminal laws that hold criminals accountable and protect victims.

-Addressing homelessness by promoting affordable housing, economic opportunity, and good jobs.
As a father of three children who attend our local Anchorage public schools and a small businessman, the importance of ensuring all Alaskans have access to a high-quality education is something I’m very passionate about. Politicians in Juneau have failed to prioritize education and as a result, class sizes continue to grow, quality teachers leave Alaska, schools close, extracurricular programs are cut, and our students have access to fewer and fewer opportunities.
Integrity, Honesty, Bipartisanship, and a willingness to listen to constituents, take in new information, and work together to come up with the best solutions for Alaska.
I would like my kids to know that they can make a difference. They know their dad as someone they play with, as someone who drives them to school and appointments, as someone who makes some of their favorite meals, as someone who takes them camping, and as someone who does a lot of DIY projects around the house. But since 2022, they’ve also seen their dad get involved with our public processes and make a positive difference for our community. I want my kids to learn that if their profoundly ordinary dad from a simple working class family can make a difference, and they can too.
The building of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. It happened as I was a small child, just before school age. It filled my town of Fairbanks with red and maroon pickups and suburbans and with huge stretches of cleared land that were used for staging the pipe. That cleared land eventually became the soccer fields I learned to play on after the pipeline was constructed.
Yes. To be an effective legislator and successfully deliver for our community, I’m committed to working across the aisle and building meaningful relationships with other legislators, the governor, and local Anchorage officials, regardless of their party affiliation.
While door-knocking, I had a conversation with a retired Alaskan whose number one concern was education funding. But it wasn’t for a reason I had anticipated. She did not have kids or grandkids in our public schools but she had two doctors (doctors who took Medicaid - a relatively rare occurrence if you are an older Alaskan) who left Alaska within the last year due to the poor educational opportunities for their own kids. This neighbor wants us to invest in high-quality education for the health of Alaska.
What does a fish say when it swims into a cement wall? Dam.
I’m proud to have been endorsed by Alaskan leaders and community organizations, including Senator Matt Claman, Assemblymember Anna Brawley, Anchorage Firefighters, Anchorage Police Department Employees Association, IBEW, Anchorage Central Labor Council, Anchorage Education Association, Teamsters, AFL-CIO, Carpenters, Laborers, and Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates.

I am a lifelong Alaskan and grew up in Fairbanks where I attended UAF and I met my wife Lisa. After college, we moved to Anchorage for further educational and job opportunities more than 20 years ago. We served together in the Peace Corps for 2 years in Thailand - my longest time away from Alaska - and returned to Alaska where I worked for a decade in the oil industry with a subcontractor to BP. I am a father to three school-aged children and run a small business here in town that allows me to spend time raising our children.
  • Working for Alaska families: I am dedicated to helping families in my community, and all across Alaska. As a husband and father to three school-aged children, I know firsthand the challenges facing families in our community, including quality education, affordable childcare, economic opportunities, and public safety.
  • Fiscal Responsibility and a long term fiscal plan - Alaskans have seen firsthand the negative impacts that come when the services Alaskans depend on are tied almost exclusively to a single volatility-priced commodity. We need to diversify our economy by continuing to responsibly develop Alaska’s abundant natural resources, protect and grow the permanent fund, and create a long term fiscal plan that provides stability to our state and our economy.
  • Protecting Alaskans’ rights - Alaska’s Constitution is considered one of the best in the country. One of its highlights is an explicit right to privacy. My opponent believes that government and partisan politics should dictate the private health care decisions you and your doctor make. I will fight to protect your right to privacy so that you continue to be empowered to make your own decisions free from government overreach.
Education, affordable childcare, responsible resource development, renewable energy & energy independence, effective responsive and transparent government, and fighting for regular Alaskans.
