Campaign themes
2014
Armstrong's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[2]
Education
- Excerpt: "Education is the key to long term success in Nevada. We need to ensure our kids are able to succeed in school and in life. Any education reform should look to funding early childhood education. In Nevada, we do not fund full-day kindergarten for all children, which ensures that many start their education behind their peers. These children are the future of this great state and we owe it to them to ensure that they are able to start their education off on the right track. This is a long term approach to fixing a system that has been broken for far too long."
Business
- Excerpt: "Small business owners are subject to many taxes and other expenses. Every level of government imposes some sort of tax or fee on businesses. Self-Employment Tax, Income Tax, Personal Property Tax, Sales Tax, Unemployment tax, State Business License, County or City Business License, Professional Licenses and Insurance(s) to name a few. All that is before a business pays for their overhead or payroll expenses. Government often times does not foster an environment for small businesses to grow and thrive. Instead of just raising tax rates, let’s help promote an economic recovery, put people to work and strengthen the tax base. This formula creates revenue for the state in multiple ways. Growing businesses have higher revenues (pay more taxes), and more people will be employed and spending money (increase in sales tax)."
Freedom
- Excerpt: "It is my absolute goal to fight for personal freedom and liberty."

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
