Derek believes that all of God’s children deserve a quality education free from social and/or political motivations or agendas. He is grateful to be running to support our kids, parents/guardians, teachers, staff, all to improve 27J.
Derek is uniquely qualified to serve on the board. He has passionately served as a director on the board of Bromley East Charter School and is currently an alternate member of the 27J Bond Oversite Committee. He brings that experience and insight into how boards are run through policy governance.
Derek is for the children first and foremost and believes that transparency is crucial to our children’s education, and a healthy district. Derek comes from a long family history of educators and loves teachers. He knows how difficult their jobs are. He will work tirelessly to see honest improvement in 27J for students and teachers alike.
The constituents of 27J deserve a board member that is focused on the improvement of 27J, and not distracted by other campaigns and councils. After the voters recently passed the Mill Levy and Bond, they deserve quality board members dedicated to our students’ learning and that will work to ensure that our resources are used in a manner to best serve all students. Constituents deserve someone who is not afraid to speak up for what is right. That is what they will get with Derek as Director.- Students Safety & Mental Health
