Derek Hyra
Derek Hyra was a 2014 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 8th Congressional District of Virginia.[1] He was defeated by Don Beyer in the Democratic primary on June 10, 2014.[2]

Hyra ran in the 2014 election for the U.S. House to represent Virginia's 8th District.[1] Don Beyer defeated Virginia State Delegate Patrick Hope, former northern Virginia Urban League chief Lavern Chatman, Virginia State Senator Adam Ebbin, Alexandria Mayor William Euille, Hyra and radio talk-show host Mark Levine in the Democratic primary on June 10, 2014.[2]
