Derek J. Vanderwood

Derek J. Vanderwood is a judge for the Clark Superior Court in Washington. He was appointed to the court by Governor Jay Inslee on January 23, 2015, to succeed retired Judge John F. Nichols.[1] He ran unopposed for election in 2015. This initial term expired in 2016.[2]
Vanderwood won re-election in 2016. He was unopposed in the general election on November 8, 2016.

Primary elections were held on August 2, 2016, for six seats where more than two candidates filed for election. Vanderwood was re-elected without opposition to the Clark Superior Court - Position 3 in 2015. Washington's general judicial election was held on November 3, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates was May 15, 2015.[2]
Education
Vanderwood earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and his J.D. from the University of Washington.[4]
Career
Prior to being appointed to the court, Vanderwood was a partner at the law firm of English, Lane, Marshall & Vanderwood.[1]
