Derek Johnson is the Iowa District Court 2B District Judge. He assumed office in 2022.

He was appointed to the court on December 29, 2021 by Gov. Kim Reynolds (R) to replace Gina Badding.[1]

Biography

Johnson received his bachelor's degree from Buena Vista University and his J.D. from Drake University Law School. Directly prior to his appointment, he served as a district associate judge in Judicial Election District 2B. Before that, he worked in private practice and served as the Humboldt County Attorney.[1]
