I am a proud teacher and Sarasota County native. I was born and raised in Sarasota County. I live in Venice and teach 12th grade Government & Economics at Sarasota High School. I never intended to be a politician, but when my own State Representative, Fiona McFarland voted to cut $12 million from Sarasota County Schools, I knew I had to run. When you come after my students and their education, it becomes personal.
  • I will champion affordable housing on the Suncoast. Tallahassee politicians raid the Sadowski Affordable Housing Fund every year and have for decades, I will fight to ensure Tallahassee uses the Affordable Housing fund to actually build affordable housing for Florida’s working families.
  • I will advocate for our children’s public schools. In Tallahassee, I will fight for public school funding to ensure that there is a teacher in every classroom and a bus driver for every route.
  • I will protect a woman’s right to choose. I will fight to protect a woman’s right to access safe and legal abortion services in this state. This is a decision that is to be made by a woman in consultation with her family, her spiritual advisor, and her doctor. This is not a decision to be made by the government nor its bureaucrats.
I am a proud public school teacher, so education is near and dear to my heart. In Florida, public education is being attacked from all sides. Starting with our own State Representative, Fiona McFarland who voted to cut $12 million from Sarasota County Schools in Florida's record House Budget.

I am also a proud Sarasota County native, I have always lived within a few miles of the coast, therefore water quality and the environment mean a great deal to me. Piney Point poisoned our bay and beaches, because Tallahassee politicians neglected it for decades. We need legislators that will prevent environmental disasters, not ones that will only address them after they occur.

Finally, we need to address affordable housing. I am a teacher, I literally can no longer afford to live in the county I was born and raised in. Tallahassee politicians have neglected to use the affordable housing fund to build affordable housing, and as a result it is pushing Florida's hardworking families out of Sarasota County and Florida. We must fully fund the Sadowski Affordable Housing Fund. We must also address Florida's homeowner's insurance crisis. Those that own homes, now cannot afford to keep them. We must address both of these housing crises.
