Gov. Bob Ferguson (D) reappointed Sandison on December 13, 2024 to serve as Washington Director of Agriculture. The Washington Director of Agriculture is appointed by the Governor of Washington and serves at the pleasure of the governor.[3]
Biography
A native of Washington, Sandison received a bachelor's in biological sciences and a master's in natural resource management from Central Washington University. Sandison spent 12 years in local government and served as senior vice president at a consulting firm for 14 years. Immediately prior to his appointment as Director of Agriculture, Sandison was the director of the Department of Ecology's Office of the Columbia River, which managed the river's water supply.[4]
