Whitlock completed a voter guide profile for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch:

What are your top priorities for the district?

I have served on the board since 2003. I am an active member of the community and a parent. As a 28-year resident, I understand the concerns of the community and have worked to address those concerns through policy making and leadership. I am a master certified board member. As a board member, I pride myself on providing a high-quality education for students.

Why are you qualified to serve in this office?

My top priorities are to continue a focus on increasing student achievement and test scores. Another priority is hiring and maintaining a quality staff essential to the success of our students. Also, it is necessary to provide a safe learning environment for our students and staff. Finally, we must continue to provide our students with technology for the 21st century.[5]
