|This lived experience propelled me into the work of organizing early on as a teenager. I committed to the work of building power within neglected and oftentimes forgotten communities by mobilizing voters while widening the understanding of intersectional discourse.
Im running for congress because I believe the best days of south Louisiana are still ahead of us if we fight for it.
For too long, our district has been ill served by career politicians who put the wants of corporations over the needs of our communities. We deserve a congressman who’s ready to take on the petrochemical industry while fighting for a progressive working class agenda that betters the lives of all our people.- Repair the harm done to our communities: I recognize the urgent need to address the deep scars left by systemic racism and oppressive policies that have long plagued our communities. As your congressman, I will work to actively dismantle these injustices, ensuring equal opportunities for all our residents. Through our fight for fair housing, environmental justice, transforming a racist criminal legal system, and ensuring the right to quality healthcare and education for all our citizens, I am dedicated to correcting these historical wrongs.
- Rebuild our Communities: As your representative, I will fight to drive substantial investment into the heart of our neighborhoods, particularly those that have been neglected. This means not only investing in our infrastructure but also being intentional in supporting our educational facilities, healthcare services, and growing our local businesses. Our vision for rebuilding extends beyond physical structures; it's about laying down the foundations for sustainable development and building a resilient district that leads the nation in the progressive transformation of our communities.
- Restore the rights of our people and their trust in government: As your congressman, I will remain committed to restoring fundamental rights and dignity within our district, as part of a broader vision for peace, inclusivity, and justice. The loss of trust in our public institutions is not merely a gap—it is a gaping wound that cries out for immediate healing. We will answer this call with a steadfast commitment to transparency, accountability, and direct engagement with you, our community. This campaign is dedicated to fighting for the rights that form the cornerstone of our democracy—voting rights, freedom from undue incarceration, and a foreign policy rooted in peace and diplomacy rather than conflict.
