  • Reversing climate change could represent the single greatest opportunity in human history to profitably reinvent our society in a way that literally benefits every living being on the plant,
  • America is prosperous enough to provide health care to every single person in the country. I'll fight to find the most cost effective way of doing just that.
  • In a rich country like the United States, there is no reason for people to be hungry or to live in extreme poverty and yet people do. I won't rest until poverty in America is eradicated.
For the past eight years, I've been working to eradicate extreme poverty, improve global health and reverse climate change by bringing attention to these issues. I've concluded that the biggest opportunity for impact lies in serving in Congress where I can fight for the people of Utah's 3rd District every single day.
While I admire Bill Gates and have had the opportunity to interview him twice, I am more genuinely inspired by the rather more ordinary people who have nonetheless managed to have great impact in the world. I'm convinced that the only thing stopping us from playing above our weight class is our misperception that we can't.
The key principle is a desire to govern, including by working across the aisle.
My first real job as a teenager was digging ditches for a company that installed sprinkling systems. I'm proud that before I was old enough to drive, I could dig trenches faster than much stronger, bigger adults. I'm also glad that job only lasted one summer.
The House has proven an ability to get things done, to pass legislation and move things forward even when the Senate can't.
Yes. My past work on Capitol Hill is part of what qualifies me for the job.
Climate change both the biggest challenge and the biggest opportunity for the country over the next decade.
