Devon Anderson
Devon Anderson is a former district attorney of Harris County, Texas. She was appointed by Governor Rick Perry (R) on September 26, 2013, to succeed her husband, Mike Anderson, who died on August 31, 2013.[1] She was then elected to the position in 2014. Anderson lost a re-election campaign in the general election on November 8, 2016.
Biography
Anderson grew up in Waco, Texas. She received her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law. From 1992 to 2004, she worked at the Harris County District Attorney’s office. For the next four years, she served as a judge on the 177th District Court. She then worked as a defense attorney until her appointment as district attorney in 2013.[2]
Elections
2016
Harris County held elections for county commission, justices of the peace, constables, district attorney, county attorney, sheriff, county tax assessor-collector, and the Harris County Department of Education Board of Trustees in 2016. The general election was held on November 8, 2016. A primary election was held on March 1, 2016, and a primary runoff took place on May 24, 2016. The filing deadline for those wishing to run in this election was December 14, 2015.[3] Kim Ogg (D) defeated incumbent Devon Anderson (R) in the Harris County district attorney general election.
