Di Toro sworn in to D.C. Superior Court

Washington, D.C.: Jennifer Di Toro was sworn in to her seat on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia on October 14, 2011. She was nominated to the court by President Obama in February of 2011 and was approved by the Senate in August 2011.

Prior to becoming a judge, Di Toro worked as the legal director of the Children's Law Center for seven years. She was an associate at Zuckerman Spaeder before that and is a former staff attorney for DC's Public Defender Service.[1]

Di Toro is the first married LGBT individual with children who has been approved by the Senate to serve the judiciary.[2]
