Diana I. Stuart was a judge on the Multnomah County Circuit Court in Oregon. The court has jurisdiction over Multnomah County and is located within the 4th Judicial District. Stuart was first appointed to the position in 2007 by Governor Ted Kulongoski to fill the vacancy left by former Judge Douglas Beckman.[1] She was re-elected in 2014 for a term that would have expired on January 3, 2021. Stuart retired from the bench in 2017.[2][3][4]

Education

Stuart received her B.A. in political science from Drew University, where she graduated summa cum laude. She earned her J.D. from Willamette University in 1977.[1]

Career

Prior to her 2007 appointment to the Oregon Circuit Court, 4th Judicial District, Stuart was formerly a partner at Goldberg Mechanic Stuart Gibson LLP. At the time of her appointment, she had spent nearly 30 years as a civil, labor and domestic relations litigator and as a public defender.[1]
