New York Supreme Court 12th Judicial District

Diane A. Lebedeff was an acting justice of the Bronx County Supreme Court, Civil Term in the 12th Judicial District of New York. She was appointed to this position in 1988. She also served as a judge of the New York City Civil Court prior to her resignation.[1][2][3][4]

Education

Lebedeff received her B.A. degree from the University of Michigan in 1965 and her J.D. degree from the University of Michigan School of Law in 1968.[1]

Career

Lebedeff began her career in 1969 as an associate of the Legal Aid Society, Criminal Appeals Bureau. In 1971, she became an attorney for the New York State Division of Justice. She then worked for the N.Y.C. Department of Rent & Housing Maintenance as Counsel (1973-1976) and General Counsel (1976-1980).

Lebedeff began her judicial career in 1980, when she was appointed to the Housing Court of the New York City Civil Court. She was elected a Civil Court Judge in 1984 and was re-elected to this position in 1999. Since 1988, she has served as an Acting Supreme Court Justice.[1]
