I am a small business woman who wants to take a seat at the table where decisions are made and support our democracy. The Democratic Party platform is extensive and I support all of it.
  • Women deserve the right of privacy and to choose their own doctors and make their private healthcare decisions.
  • Women deserve equal pay for equal work.
  • Our youth deserve a free Community College Continuing education, and we should continue to pardon student debt and expand Pell grants.
President Obama. The economy was great, his administration was nice and we got medicare expansion and healthcare for the 1st time in history.
Honesty and Caring and loyalty to the rules of law and our Constitution.
I am persistent and a successful small business owner for over 40 years.
Show up to work so that you can vote on the bills. "The greater good for the greater number of people." Betham.
Be persistent and steadfast and always abounding in what you do.
In Mississippi the biggest struggle for everyone is the color of our skin.
Anyone can become a Representative if they win the popularity contest with a term of only 2 years, if governing is not for you, then the turnover is quick.
Life's experiences are varied and all offer a valuable perspective when combined together with the rest of the House members.
White Supremacy, Climate Change, overpopulation and fighting for resources.
I don't know as I have not had the pleasure, but it seems that as soon as you get the hang of the office it's time to run for re-election.
The US Senate should have term limits, no more than 2 terms like the President.
Jasmine Crockett from Texas is young and dynamic, and I'd love to be like her.
An associate was accused of having a home abortion and forced to pay for a pregnancy test even though she told them emphatically that she's not had a boyfriend in 3 years. Finally, after many tests they determined she had fibroid problems. She was treated poorly and with suspicion, when the reality was she should have received private healthcare. But her healthcare was not private because if she'd had an abortion, her healthcare provider would have been forced to report her so that she could have been charged with carrying out an abortion, punished in Mississippi by 10 years in prison and $100,000 fine.
My Daddy (92) tells my favorite joke: A group of Black men went hunting on posted land, by the time the owner came out they were across the street and no longer on the posted land, but their dogs were still hunting on the posted land. The man told them can't you read that sign? it says No Hunting. And they said, yes Sir, but we're not on the posted land, our dogs are, and they cannot read.
Yes, because I do not have all of the answers and together we must work as a team to make our country the best it can be.
January 6th investigation was great, but the bogus Russian fed Biden investigation was a farce.
We are not asking for endorsements until after our March 12th contested Democratic Primary.
Small business, education and healthcare
As a small business owner, I think that, all financing that is used with taxpayer money should be transparent and accounted for. There should not be any "dark money".

Campaign website

Black’s campaign website stated the following:

Issues and Solutions
There is a lot of work to do in Mississippi and across the nation. We need real solutions to the real problems Americans are facing every day. If you want a candidate that can stand up for access to affordable healthcare, reproductive rights, education, a strong economy, and climate change, join Dianne Dodson Black and help send her to Washington D.C. as Mississippi's First District representative to U.S. Congress.

Affordable access to healthcare
Everyone deserves the right to affordable health care. We need expansion of Medicaid, lower prescription drug prices, and access to health insurance to make our communities healthier and stronger.

Reproductive privacy
Women have the right to safe access to contraception, reproductive health care, and health privacy. We all have the right to body autonomy.

Stronger economy
A strong economy takes a long-term vision, including supporting small businesses, forgiving student loan debt, adopting green energy policies, making health care affordable, and lowering inflation.

Common sense gun laws
By enacting common sense gun laws, we can protect our children, our workplaces, and our neighborhoods. Making our communities safer from gun violence affects us all.

Tackling the Hard Problems

  • Supporting voter rights
  • Raising the minimum wage
  • Tackling the climate crisis
  • Supporting our veterans
  • Reforming the criminal justice system
  • Legalizing medicinal marijuana
  • Forgiving student debt[3]

My name is Dianne Dodson Black and I am a small business owner (40 years) who has always lived in Mississippi. I have been happily married for 49 years, have 5 children and 3 grandchildren. I have always had an interest in my community and in politics and have run for office as a proud Democrat in Olive Branch, Mississippi. I'm interested in preserving our Democracy, and if elected will be a yes vote for the Biden/Harris administration just like Mississippi MS-02 Congressman Benny G. Thompson. Northern Mississippi has never had an African American woman run for MS-01, US Congress, and if elected, I will bring my life's experiences to the table where decisions are made in Washington DC.
  • The American people deserve to have their tax dollars spent on stimulating our economy.
  • Mississippians need to be paid a living wage and have access to affordable Healthcare.
  • I support extending the 2021 Child Tax Credit.
Healthcare and helping the poor.

I have been appalled when our current US Representative has voted to end the Affordable Care Act, with absolutely no replacement plan. It is the responsibility of our government to help the people, and the Biden Harris administration has rescued us with vaccines and public policies to protect each other. Because Mississippi has refused to expand Medicaid, many of our rural hospitals have been forced to close. I am personally alarmed that healthcare for all Mississippians is not a top priority for all elected officials, State and Federal.

Currently the House of Representatives passed the Crown Act which still needs to be passed by the Senate. This passage would help the poor in Mississippi, especially poor Black women, who are forced by employers to invest their income in changing their natural hair. It is my perception that when government fails to help the poor, our churches are then forced to feed and help them, instead of using our tax dollars to help each other which is more reliable.
I'm honest and caring.
My 40 years of business experience will help me make sound decisions.
1. To occupy the table where decisions are made and to do your best to make those decisions helpful to the people of Mississippi. You must attend to the business of running the US government.

2. To hold Town Hall meetings so that you can hear from your constituents.
3. To support our Democracy and not the Insurrectionists.
4. To support Voting Rights so the People of Mississippi always have fair and equal access to the voting box.

5. To force our Federal Government to seriously address Climate Change.
Dianne Dodson Black was a champion to prevent the overheating of our planet via climate change, she preserved our Democracy and was good for Mississippi.
The assasination of President Kennedy in 1963 and in 1968 Robert Kennedy was very shocking to me.
As long as the voters want you to represent their interests, a candidate should be allowed to run for office.
The story I heard about a very young Mississippi woman who had an asthma attack but her local hospital had closed and by the time her family drove the long distance to medical care she had died.
