Dirk Haire was elected chairman of the Republican Party of Maryland in December 2016. As of February 2017, Haire worked as a managing partner specializing in construction law at Fox Rothschild LLP in Washington, D.C. Haire didn't seek re-election as the party chair in 2023.[1]


Career

Haire earned a B.S. in history and political science from Ball State University in 1990 and a J.D. from The George Washington University School of Law in 1993.

Haire worked as a senior director with Associated General Contractors of America from 1996 to 2001. He transitioned to a position as a partner at Holland & Knight LLP, where he remained until 2009. He worked as a partner at Smith Currie & Hancock until 2001, then joined the firm of Fox Rothschild LLP. As of February 2017, Haire worked as a managing partner specializing in construction law at Fox Rothschild LLP in Washington, D.C.[2][3]

Political activity

Haire served as counsel for Maryland Governor Larry Hogan's (R) 2014 gubernatorial campaign. He previously served as a legislative aide to former U.S. Senator Dan Coats (R-Ind.) and as the chair of the Maryland House Republican Caucus Committee and the Maryland Senate Republican Caucus Committee. Haire also worked as a campaign manager for Republican congressional campaigns in Indiana and Wisconsin.[4][5] ,
