District Judge Vassar to retire

Chandler, Oklahoma: Judge Paul Vassar has announced that he will retire from the Oklahoma 23rd District Court in January of 2011. The 70-year-old judge has served on this court for the past 15 years. Prior to joining the court, he was a lawyer at his father's law practice. Once retired, Vassar said he plans to write and "never practice law again." He will be replaced by either Robert Thompson or Cindy Ferrell Ashwood, who are competing for the seat in the general election on November 2, 2010.[1]
