Dolores Guzman has lived in Deltona, FL for the past 24 years, working as a legal assistant and is a licensed Health Insurance Agent in the State of Florida. She is a daughter, a mother, a grandmother and a caretaker. She raised 2 children, with her strong Christian values, both of whom graduated from Pine Ridge High School. Dolores now has 3 beautiful grandchildren and has been caring for her elderly mother for the past 15 years. Her love for her family transcends to everyone around her. It's a force that drives her and energizes her to keep moving forward. This is why she believes strongly that community service is a mechanism that can pave the way for a better future.
  • I help people obtain affordable healthcare.
  • I want to give kids a chance to learn a trade while in High School that will help them earn a decent wage whether they want to go to College or not.
  • Seniors on social security in the 27th district do not have access to decent affordable housing. Many live in manufactured homes that are not safe during Hurricane season and Seniors often have a hard time evacuating when their health is at risk.
Healthcare has always been a passion because a healthy community is a productive community. I see so many people being held back because of health concerns. They want to do more in life and want to help others but cannot afford to take care of themselves.

Education is something that concerns me because I am a product of Technical School Education. Not every child who graduates wants to go to College, let alone can afford it. Technical School Education programs such as the ones in Colorado can help give high students a good financial start or a secure financial future.

District 27 is facing an affordable housing crisis. In this area, a family must make an average of $21.00 per hour to pay rent of $1300/month. This is why there are multiple families living together in a single family dwelling. People work two and three jobs to afford to live without worrying about their families having a place to sleep at night. Seniors on social security in the 27th district do not have access to affordable housing. Dolores feels this is one of the most important issues and promises to go to Tallahassee and fight tirelessly to find a solution.
